Saturday, the Deseret News released the first All-State teams for the spring sports season, and four Dinos, Carter Warburton, Kyler Orth, Evan Lancaster, and Charles Tima, earned nods for boys volleyball.

The Dinos ended the season at 15-12 overall and 7-5 in region play, earning the No. 7 spot in the final RPI and a first-round bye. They opened the playoffs, taking on Wasatch Academy, and won in straight sets 25-20, 25-19, and 25-19, moving them into the second round to take on No. 2 Salt Lake Academy. In the quarters, Carbon fell in straight sets to the Griffins, dropping Carbon to the quarterfinal loss round against American Heritage, losing in straight sets to end the season.

The players are voted on by coaches across the state, and the list of the top players in each classification is compiled every year.

Warburton, a junior, earned a third-team nod for his work on the court. Warburton ended his season with 237 digs, 173 kills, and 44 service aces.

Three players claimed Honorable Mention. Starting with Tima, the senior collected 218 digs, 168 kills, and 53 service aces. Orth, a junior, had 153 kills, 110 digs, and 22 aces, and Lancaster, another senior,  earned 142 digs to go with 136 kills and 16 service aces.

Jack Komenda of Morgan was named the 3A Player of the Year, and his running mate, Caleb Stephens, was named the 3A Playoff MVP.
