A pair of Dinos were given Honorable Mention when the All-State list for the 2025 baseball season was released on Monday morning. Seniors Rydge Butler and Mike Vigil were both named to the list.

Carbon finished the season 10-15 overall, earning the No. 8 spot in the final RPI. In the opening round, they faced the No. 9 North Sanpete Hawks in the best-of-three Super Regional round. The Dinos couldn’t solve the riddle of the Hawks as they fell in the first two games, 2-1 and 4-3, to end their season.

Coaches across the state vote on the players, and the list of the top players in each classification is compiled annually.

Butler was a force in every sport he played this season. Earning a first-team All-State nod for golf and Academic All-State nods for golf, basketball, and baseball, Butler’s .217 batting average with 15 hits and 12 runs scored earned him an Honorable Mention. In the game with Richfield on April 4, he went 2-4 and scored three runs. Butler earned a second-team honor in baseball last season.

Vigil claimed his Honorable Mention for his work at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, he had a .233 batting average, with 14 hits, nine RBIs, scoring six runs, collecting four doubles, and one home run. He made the most of his eight appearances on the mound, earning a 1.22 earned run average, striking out 24. Vigil also had a great day in the 17-10 win over Richfield, going 3-4  with four RBIs and one run scored with a home run.

Austin Park of Juab was named the 3A Player of the Year, and Trenton Ludlow of Canyon View got the nod as the 3A Playoff MVP.

Congratulations to those who earned All-State Honors for their work in the 2025 season.
