At approximately 10:30 a.m., firefighters were called out to Gordon Creek Road to respond to a structure fire. In an hourslong battle, first responders were able to contain the blaze before it could spread to surrounding vegetation, but the flames consumed the house.

When the call to duty was received, firefighters from the Wellington, Price, Helper and East Carbon Fire Departments rushed to the scene. Representatives from the Price City Police Department, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Highway Patrol were also present at the scene.

Utility crews also played a crucial role in containing the blaze, arriving at the scene to shut off power and block road access, allowing the firefighters to perform their duties unimpeded.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

This is a still-developing story; updates will be provided as they become available.
