Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.

Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Jaxton Smith, Alex Martinez, and Mason Powell talked about winning the state championship and what's next for the team.

With the winter sports season now complete, teams in the Castle Country Area are set to return to the diamond. Carbon softball coach Kirt Nunley joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports to preview the season.

Wednesday's show was centered around the World Series, which came to a close Tuesday night as the Dodgers topped the Rays in six games. Steve Bortstein, Drive Time Sports analyst, joined the show to share his thoughts.
