As Price City’s Culture Connection concert series nears the close of its 2025 season, the city is pulling out all the stops, bringing back a number of fan favorite acts to close out the year. Kicking off this final slate is Americana and Blues group The Deltaz, who will take the Washington Park stage on Thursday, July 31.
Price City Council member Layne Miller joined the KOAL newsroom to discuss the group’s return to Price, as well as reflect on the success of the International Days slate of entertainment.
Opening our conversation, Miller discussed the live entertainment seen at the city’s International Days celebration. “We had lots and lots of people there all day. We started early in the afternoon on Friday, and then about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, and went until 9 p.m., and then into the drone show, and the park was full of people, and it was exciting.”
Moving to the present, Miller spoke excitedly about the return of The Deltaz to Culture Connection,” I almost feel like they live somewhere in Carbon County and we just haven’t found it yet because everybody loves them … This is a duo. It’s two brothers. And they’ve been doing this for a long time. They’re professional and they sound great.”
A mainstay of the Culture Connection scene, Miller shared one of his favorite memories of the group: “One of my fondest memories is when COVID hit and we couldn’t do live performances, our first streaming group was the Deltas from a small trailer they built from Bend, Oregon, livestreamed to Price, Utah.”
Getting the band this year, however, required a little bit of luck and hard work from the Culture Connection crew. “They have a real connection with Price and they have a real connection with Helper. We were lucky, I don’t know if you know it or not, they’re on tour. So this is a stop on their nationwide tour.”
Encouraging residents to get out and involved with the concert series, Miller stated,” You need to come experience it. I mean, we can talk about it, but you need to be there, sitting in your chair or on the grass, in the shade, listening to live music, surrounded by your friends and neighbors. You have to experience it. It’s just a fabulous thing.”
Closing our conversation, Miller provided one more word of encouragement,” Just come join us. Experience it. If you haven’t ever listened to The Deltaz, this is your chance. You’ll enjoy it. It’s just a blast.”
The Deltaz make their long-awaited return to the Culture Connection stage on Thursday, July 31, starting at 7 p.m. at Washington Park. More information on this and other events is available on priceutah.gov or the city’s Facebook page.
