While most slept on the morning of Wednesday, July 30, first responders from the Green River Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire in the Elgin area.
Working quickly, members of the Green River Fire Department were able to contain the blaze to a single section of the structure, limiting the damage it could cause.
A release from the fire department reports that “No injuries were reported, and a standard investigation is currently underway.”
In a previous statement to Castle Country Radio, the fire department prided itself on its fast response times: “Green River’s coverage area is larger, so we pride ourselves in always being ready for the call to minimize response times.”
This incident comes at a time when many firefighters in the area are battling the Deer Creek fire, which at the time of writing has consumed an estimated 17,724 acres.
Closing the release, the department states,” We extend our thanks to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office and Green River EMS for their valuable support.”
No further information has been released.
