Cari Lynette Deason Hunt, 63, of East Carbon, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on August 2. She was born on August 12, 1961, in Carlsbad, California, the first daughter of Douglas and Marla Deason.
Cari graduated eighth in her class in Carlsbad, CA, where she formed many of the qualities that would define her—determination, loyalty, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.
A proud and dedicated EMT in East Carbon, Cari was honored as EMT of the Year, a reflection of her tireless commitment to helping others. Her colleagues and community will remember her not only for her service later in life as a substance abuse therapist, but also for her boundless compassion, and the way she made everyone feel like family.
Cari had a colorful and eclectic spirit, which shone through in her style, her words, and the way she embraced life. She was a gifted poet and writer, able to capture beauty and truth in ways that touched the hearts of those who read her work. She was opinionated and wasn’t afraid to back up her stances.
More than anything, Cari believed in the strength of family and the importance of standing by one another, through thick and thin, throughout all of life’s nuances and perils. Whether it was offering a warm hug, a comforting meal, or simply a listening ear, she had a way of taking people under her wing and making them feel safe and loved. Family, food, and comfort were closest to her heart and purpose.
She is survived by her husband, Randall Hunt; daughter, Kambria; sons, Justen, Kahill, Keityn, twins, Michael and Christian; and stepson, Gabriel Hunt. She also had a very special relationship with her granddaughter, Indio, and her mother, Autumn Martinez.
Also preceded by sisters, Janna Deason of Loveland, Colorado, Dana Shamburg of Syracuse, Kansas, and Staci Loveland of Placerville, California. Preceded in death by parents Douglas and Marla Deason, and stepson, Randy Hunt.
She will be missed by her many friends who became family along the way. Cari’s legacy of love, loyalty, and fierce devotion will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be determined. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Cari online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
