
Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Douglas Oscar Blackburn, age 77, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at his home in East Carbon, Utah surrounded by his loved ones.
Douglas was born on September 2, 1947 in Dragerton, Utah.
Married Paula Krissman Blackburn on April 1, 1969 in Hawaii. Paula preceded Douglas in death on September 19, 2018.
Douglas spent many years working as a machinist for Joy Mining and Machinery. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife, Paula on their Harley. Family meant the most to Douglas. His great-grandchildren brought him much life and excitement to his life; they kept him going and kept him young at heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his son, Rudy Paul (JoAnn) Blackburn; daughter, Lisa R. Shumway; grandsons, Jeffery (Marissa) Byrge, John (Katie) Byrge, and Douglas Shumway; and six great-grandchildren.
Douglas is preceded in death by his wife, Paula; parents; and his siblings.
A private graveside service will take place in the East Carbon City Cemetery on Friday, August 8, 2025.
