
Carbon’s Rozlyn Stowe finished in the top spot in the girls’ division at the UIAA Invitational on Saturday in Spanish Fork, where over 200 runners from 38 schools competed. In the team competition, both the girls’ and boys’ teams finished in 13th place.
Stowe was one of seven Lady Dinos who competed in just the second race of Carbon’s season, turning in a time of 17:37.51, ahead of Skye Jensen of American Fork and her time of 18:11.25. Josie Yates (26), Brettlee Kennedy (115), Kiley Bishoff (116), Allie Bryner (124), Kaylee Pitcher, and McKenzie Fredrickson all competed for the Lady Dinos.
American Fork claimed the top prize, and Westlake landed in second. Riverton, Herriman, and Lehi rounded out the top five. Carbon claimed 13th out of 30 teams.
For the Carbon boys, it was Even Criddle with the top finish of 57th. Matthew Stromness (76), Dallin Humes (77), Michael Weber (86), Bracken Hanson (114), Samuel Wilson, and Seth Jenson competed as well for the Dinos in the field with 246 other runners.
Herriman finished first in the boys division, with Riverton taking second. Orem, Mountain View, and Westlake rounded out the top five. The Dinos finished 13th out of 41 teams that took part in the event.
Carbon is off now until September 4, when they will travel to the Canyon Hills Golf Course in Nephi for the Juab meet.
