The never-ending battle against crime continued in Emery County, as over the weekend, the Emery County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, which saw the seizure of seven firearms and a combination of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The warrant service also resulted in three arrests connected to the items seized during the search.
In a social media post from Emery County Sheriff Tyson Huntington, the Sheriff states,” During the search warrant, Deputies located methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia, scales, and baggies. Seven firearms were also seized – one handgun and six rifles.”
He continues,” Even though the rifles were not semi-auto style rifles, it is still illegal to possess guns with drugs. Just for perspective, the firearm that recently took the lives of the two Tremonton-Garland officers was a “hunting” style rifle.”
Huntington credits this seizure to “good old-fashioned” and “low-tech police work. “Deputies noticed something out of the ordinary, investigated it, petitioned the court for a search warrant based on the findings of the investigation, served the warrant, seized drugs and guns, and arrested the three individuals.”
Closing his statement, Huntington shared a word of appreciation for his deputies,” It’s comforting to know our Deputies are capable of and are willing to use low-tech as well as high-tech to do their jobs. Thank you to the Deputies involved in this case and JOB WELL DONE!”
The names of those arrested have not been released.
