Verna Jean Foster McDoniel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1937, in Ferron, Utah, to Nephi Layton Foster and LaVon R. Westenskow.

On November 3, 1955, Jeanie married the love of her life, Doyl Ray McDoniel, in Tunica, Mississippi. Together they shared 66 years of devotion, faith, and family until his passing on March 25, 2022. They raised two children, Denise and Troy, and built a legacy of love that continues through their family. Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyl, and their son, Troy, who passed away on August 23, 2020.

A devoted member of the Church of Christ in Wellington, Utah, Jeanie and Doyl worked hand in hand to help build the church community and literally the church itself. Jeanie served faithfully as church secretary but was much more than that—she was a spiritual leader, mentor, and friend to many. She embodied the heart of a true “church lady,” always serving with grace, kindness, and an unwavering faith.

Jeanie was also a gifted and passionate artist. Her home was a gallery of her creativity, adorned with her beautiful paintings. She never sought recognition or payment for her work, instead giving her art freely as gifts of love to family, friends, and neighbors. Her talent reflected not only her skill but also her generous and humble spirit.

Above all, Jeanie will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her joy, and she poured her love into their lives every day. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, creativity, and unconditional love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Jeanie is survived by her daughter, Denise (Davy) Holden; sister, Elaine Anthony; grandsons, Davy Holden II, Brian Holden; great-granddaughters, Daisy and Meadow Holden; nieces, Diane Christensen, Sherri Regis, Toni Parker, Doreen Foster; nephews, Dennis Fausett, Tad Fausett, Layton Foster, Scott Foster, Chad Foster; as well as many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyl; son, Troy; brothers, Layton Bruce Foster; and sister, Shirley Fausett.
