Maria Nichols, 79, of Price, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. She was born on February 24, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, and was raised in Spring Glen (Helper), Utah.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Nichols, and her eldest son, Victor Brown. She is survived by her children, Mike Brown and Donnelle Brown; her son-in-law, Chris Wilhelmi; her grandchildren, Blake Brown, Bart Brown, Jacob Wilhelmi, Nicholas Wilhelmi, and Jenae Brott; her siblings, Mario Tonel and Margene Hackney; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Maria was best known for her lifelong commitment to caring for others. Whether tending to her family or lending a hand to those around her, she gave of herself freely and without obligation. Her selflessness, warmth, and devotion to family set an example that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Maria carried the tenets of Christianity in her heart throughout her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Price, Utah, where she was known and loved as a sister in Christ.

She found her greatest joy at home, where she took pride in creating a warm and welcoming place for her family. She enjoyed the simple comfort of home life, and always made time for her favorite television shows and the evening news.

Maria also showed great toughness in her later years. After overcoming colon cancer, she faced stomach cancer with courage and grace. Though she was given only months to live, she went on to enjoy years filled with family, love, and precious time with her dear friends.

Funeral service, Thursday, September 11, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street, Price, Utah 84501). The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., and at Mitchell’s one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Maria’s life.
