Carbon found themselves on the road but still in familiar territory as they made the trip to Ferron to attempt to tame the Millsite Golf course, home of the Emery Spartans. Union would once again take the top spot, but Carbon was able to finish in second with 314.
Union has played lights out all season, and this week wasn’t any different as they ran away from the field, shooting a 294. Carbon finished second with a 314, and Emery took third with a 320. Manti (365) and North Sanpete (376) made up the rest of the field. Cade Frandsen of the Union Cougars had the low round of the day with a 71.
Carbon’s Dayton King had the low round for the Dinos just off of Frandsen’s pace with a 72. Levi King finished with a 77, Paxton Falk with an 82, and Cash Withers with an 83, rounding out the scoring for Carbon.
Triston Cunningham (88), Karsen Gazell (90), Christian Cowan (90), and Case Barker ( 99) traveled with the Dinos as well.
Next week, the Dinos will have two matches in two days, both taking place in the Uintah Basin.
On Tuesday, they will travel to Vernal to take on the Dinaland Golf Course for a region tournament. Then on Wednesday, they will be at the Roosevelt Golf Course, the home of the Union Cougars.
