The Lady Dinos were back on the pitch on Thursday, traveling to Mt. Pleasant to face the North Sanpete Hawks. The Dinos found the back of the net six times in the first half and would cruise to an 8-0 win.

Carbon is sitting at 12-2 overall with an unblemished 4-0 mark in Region 13 play. They also sit in the No. 2 spot in the latest rankings. Thursday marked the final game of the first go-round in conference play.

The contest against North Sanpete was definitely a team effort with eight Lady Dinos contributing with either a goal or an assist. Putting up six goals in the first half, Carbon found its way through the North Sanpete defense, allowing it to take the lead into halftime. The second half saw the Dinos maintaining the pace, finding two more goals to close out the Hawks 8-0.

Malia Smith added three more goals to her state-leading total of 37 and also had an assist. Bailey Johnson found the back of the net twice. Josie Yates, Blythe Bradford, and Naomi Smith scored goals in the game, with Naomi Smith adding two assists as well. Kenzie Morgan had a pair of assists, and Andrea Swasey and Chrissy Jones each logged an assist in the win for Carbon. Madi Barlow collected five saves in goal to earn her sixth shutout of the season.

Carbon will be back on the pitch on Tuesday when they travel to Castle Dale to face the Emery Spartans.

Game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
