
Lady Dinos volleyball traveled to Mt. Pleasant on Thursday to face the No. 1-ranked North Sanpete Hawks. The Hawks came out fast and lived up to their ranking as they defeated the Dinos in straight sets, 3-0.
Carbon sits at 3-8 overall and 0-2 in region play, sitting at the No. 14 spot in the latest rankings. North Sanpete is a perfect 14-0 overall and 3-0 in league play and sits atop the latest rankings.
The Hawks jumped out in the first set, taking a 25-7 win, going up 1-0. Set number two was all North Sanpete as the Dinos struggled to keep serve, allowing North Sanpete to take a 25-10 edge. The third set was more of the same as North Sanpete took a 25-9 victory, closing out Carbon 3-0.
Carbon heads to Stansbury for the Stallion Stampede, which starts Friday and runs through Saturday. The Dinos will go up against teams from Dixie High School, Clearfield, Alta, and Hillcrest over the two days.
Carbon will return to take on Emery at the Spartan Center on Tuesday. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m..
