The Utah State Eastern rodeo team had another strong showing this past weekend at the Utah State University rodeo in Logan. The team secured several top placings, earning valuable points toward the season standings.

Byron Christiansen continued his impressive run in the saddle bronc riding, taking first place in the opening round and second in the second round to secure the win in the average. Christiansen also added points in the tie-down roping, where he split seventh place alongside teammate Stace Gilbert.

In steer wrestling, Kaden Donathan placed third in the first round, keeping him solid in the points race.

Howdy Jackson and his partner roped sharp in the first round of team roping, claiming the win, and later secured second place in the average. With those points, Jackson climbed to third in the regional standings.

On the women’s side, Saydee Davis led the way with a standout weekend across two events. She placed second in the first round of breakaway roping and went on to finish fifth in the average. She also tied for 10th in the first round of barrel racing before moving up to fifth in the average. Those runs pushed Davis to the top of the barrel racing standings, where she now holds first place in the region.

The rest of the women’s team turned in solid performances and competitive times in their events, but narrowly missed the short round.

With standout rides and roping runs across the board, the Eagles continue to build momentum in the fall season as their men’s and women’s teams climb the regional leaderboards.

The Eagles will host their Rodeo this weekend, October 3rd-4th, in Price, Utah.
