The boy’s golf season is coming to a close at the Stansbury Park Golf Course, home of this year’s 3A State Championships. After day one, Richfield sits atop the leaderboard in the team competition with a 289; the Spartans ended the day in tenth, shooting a 334, missing the cut by two strokes. The Spartans had three golfers advance to day two in the individual championship.

Juab followed Richfield in second place with a 295. Morgan (301), Union (365), and Carbon (313) rounded out the top five. Logan, Ogden, Delta, North Sanpete, and Emery comprised the remainder of the top ten in a field of 15 schools.

There is currently a three-way tie for first in individual competition with Richfield’s Max Albrecht, Juab’s Denver Douglas, and Richfield’s Jorgen Southwick, who all shot an opening round 69.

A trio of Spartans made the cut and moved into day two of the competition: Peyton Neilson landed in 27th, shooting an 80; Champ Justice sits in 36th with his 82; and Bronx Olsen shot an 85 to land in 48th. Brendon Behunin (87), Easton Stoker (94), and Owen Blackham (107) missed the cut.
