As the 2025 municipal elections rapidly approach, Castle Country Radio is preparing to host its ‘Meet the Candidates’ series of events for elections in both Carbon and Emery County.

Providing an opportunity for community members to hear directly from those vying to be their elected representatives, things get kicked off on Monday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Rio theater when all six of the Helper City Council candidates gather. This event features four-year candidates Dave Palacios, Dave Dornan and Tyson Damron alongside two-year candidates Bob Olson, Lori Barrett and Ruth Lee.

Tuesday, Oct. 21, features more Helper representatives, as candidates for Helper City Mayor incumbent Lenise Peterman and challenger Kathy Fausett step into the spotlight at 5:30 p.m.

Emery County enters the public eye on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 5:30 p.m., as Green River City Council candidates gather at Green River City Hall for an evening of public engagement. This event features Tonya Bigelow, Conra Weber, Larry Packer and Stephanie Crabtree.

Week one of ‘Meet the Candidates’ closes out on Thursday, Oct. 23, as we travel to the East Carbon Courtroom to meet mayoral candidates Carolyn Abeyta and Nyesha Kauvaka.

Week two of the event series arrives with doubleheader action, as the community meets both the Price City mayoral and city council candidates on Tuesday, Oct. 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Price Civic Auditorium. This event will spotlight mayoral candidates Terry Willis and Mike Kourianos, in addition to council candidates Richard Root, Tina Urbanik and Travis Richardson.

Rounding out the 2025 slate of ‘Meet the Candidates’, Wellington takes center stage on Thursday, Oct. 30, as mayoral candidates Jack Clark and Edward Chavez meet in the Wellington City Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m.

All of these events are free and open to the public. The events will also be streamed live on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM and on our YouTube channel KOAL-Castle Country Focus.

Questions for the candidates are still being accepted for all of these events. If you have a question for any of these races, you can email them to election2025@koal.net.
