The Lady Spartans volleyball squad closed out the regular season on Thursday night at the Spartan Center in front of the home crowd on Senior Night. They faced off with the No. 1 team in 3A North Sanpete. The Hawks played up to their ranking, closing out Emery in straight sets.

The Spartans close the regular season with a 9-16 overall record and a 2-6 mark in Region 13 play. Both wins came over the Carbon Dinos, with the most recent one on Tuesday in Price by a score of 3-2. They sit at No. 15 in the latest rankings.

Emery was unable to counter what North Sanpete did in the match as the Hawks took set one 25-12. The Lady Spartans struggled once again in set two by the score of 25-6. The third and final set was the best for Emery, as they managed to hold off North Sanpete for a bit, but eventually fell 25-17.

The lone senior for the Lady Spartans was Kota Orgill, who was recognized for her contributions to the program.

The State Championships will begin the following week on October 27, with all rounds being played at Utah Valley University.
