Making its way into the Castle Country, a new alternative health care solution looks to rejuvenate the area as Wellness.IV.Utah seeks to make its mark. Founder McKensey Smith joined the KOAL newsroom to discuss this venture and the potential benefits of IV treatment.
“What got me thinking about this business is when I was pregnant with my second little girl, I was really sick and I needed IV therapy every day for about a month. I went through my insurance and it was great, and then I got my bill and I was like, ‘oh my gosh, this is so expensive for something that I really needed to get through my day,’” explained Smith. “ So then I was thinking this might be a good business idea, especially here in a rural community where we don’t have that offering. It’s really great for people to be able to get that at an affordable price and not have to pay thousands of dollars for something that you need.”
Smith also discussed some of the benefits of IV treatment,” There’s so many benefits of IV therapy, most everyone walking the street is at least dehydrated by at least a liter of fluid. Every single person could benefit from a liter of fluid, and the benefit of IV therapy is I add in the vitamins and minerals to the IV bag and so they go right into your bloodstream so they bypass your gut. Your stomach doesn’t have to break anything down because it goes right into your bloodstream, so you’re getting those max benefits right off the bat because your gut isn’t taking anything that you’re taking orally.”
Other benefits included customizable IV bags based on a customer’s specific needs,” If you come to me and say, ‘I’m having these sorts of issues, I’m tired, I can’t lose any weight, I can’t sleep,’ I can alter a bag specifically to your needs. I do have set bags on my menu, but you can just chat with me about what you’re wanting or needing and we can tailor make a bag for you.”
Wellness.IV.Utah also offers a travel service, bringing the benefits of IV to your home. “If you just message me or even text me or call me we can make an appointment. I have an IV room that I operate out of, but I’m also mobile. If you’re sick and don’t want to come out and you need hydration or you want to have an IV party with your friends, I can come to you and do multiple IVs. I do have quite a bit of availability.”

Closing our conversation, Smith shared,” If you feel like you could benefit from IV therapy, give me a call, reach out to me even if you’re not sure if it’s something that would benefit you, reach out to me and we can figure out if that’s something that can help you.”
