The Emery Spartans football squad closed out the regular season last Friday with a home win against Delta, 7-6. On Saturday morning, the Utah High School Activities Association released the final RPI for 2A football, along with the bracket for the 2A State Championships that get underway this Friday at home sites. The Spartans landed in the No. 5 spot, earning them a first-round bye, which means they will get started on the road in Bluffdale when they face the Summit Academy Bears on October 31.

Emery ended the regular season with a 3-6 overall record, going 2-2 in the 2A South division, earning the No. 5 spot in the final RPI of the season. Summit Academy finished the regular season 5-5 overall and 4-1 in the 2A North division. The two teams didn’t face each other this season; however, they did face three common opponents. Both teams faced San Juan, Delta, and Judge Memorial, each with an identical 2-1 record, as Emery and Summit Academy lost to San Juan.

If the Spartans get a win, they will advance to face the winner of the contest between the No. 1-ranked San Juan Broncos and the winner of the only first-round game, No. 8 Providence Hall and No. 9 Judge Memorial.

We will carry the game live on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM  and the Castle Country Radio app, starting with a 3:30 p.m. pre-game show, followed by the kickoff at 4:00 p.m. You can also catch the live stream of the game on our YouTube channel, Castle Country Radio- Emery.
