As the athletic calendar turns from the fall sports to winter, the Scenic West Athletic Conference announced the All-Conference teams for volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer. Utah State Eastern’s team saw a combined 17 Eagles named to the All-Conference teams.

Men’s Soccer

The USU Eastern men’s soccer team had seven athletes named to the SWAC All-Conference teams.

Forward Owen Gaisford and center back Davis Bormanis were named All-SWAC first team. Gaisford started in 14 of Eastern’s 17 games, in which he scored 12 goals. His 12 goals led the Eagles on the season. While Bormanis’ primary job was to anchor the Eagles’ defense, he did score a goal on Aug. 23 against Casper College.

Center back Dodi Makassa and goalkeeper Fabian Serrato Ruiz were named to the second team. Forwards Leandro Robles and Brody Stanton, and center back Carson Leishman were named to the third team.

Gaisford was also named to the SWAC Conference Tournament All-Tournament team.

Women’s Soccer

                  The USU Eastern women’s soccer team also had seven athletes named to the SWAC All-Conference teams.

                  Defender Annie Heaton and goalkeeper Sarah Newman earned All-SWAC first team honors. Heaton started 15 of Eastern’s 17 games, and her stellar defensive play earned her a spot on the first team. Newman started every game in goal for the Eagles. She recorded 63 saves on the season.

                  Defenders Emma Bargeron and Reese Myers, midfielder Emmalee Christensen, and forward Paisley Ashworth were named to the second team. Midfielder Calli Condie earned a spot on the third team.

                  Newman was also named to the SWAC Conference Tournament All-Tournament team.

Women’s Volleyball

                  The USU Eastern women’s volleyball team had 3 athletes named to the SWAC All-Conference teams.

                  Outside hitter Audrey Atwood was named to the All-SWAC first team. Atwood led the team with 276 kills on the season. She was also a team leader in aces (26) and digs (260).

                  Outside hitter Emilia Zug and middle blocker Clara Philipsson were named to the second team.
