Emery Spartan wrestling got back on the mat Tuesday evening when the Duchesne Eagles came to Castle Dale. The matches were held at The Armory, and it was very kind to the Spartans, who claimed a 30-19 win.

While the boys basketball squad was entertaining the Juab Wasps in the Spartan Center, the wrestlers set up shop in The Armory for an evening of excitement on the mats.

In the opening match, Corbin Brady earned a victory by pin over Emmet Byrnes at 106 pounds. Kash Waite drew a forfeit in the 120-pound class. At 132 pounds, Dixon Peacock earned a win by pin over Easton Moat.

At 150 pounds, Dayton Farley claimed a forfeit; Jasper Allen at 157 pounds defeated Cooper Ivie, and Damon Farley won his match over Wyatt Wager by pin in the 175-pound class.

Hazen Meccariello (190) and Sam Mesler (215) both earned forfeits, and Dimitri Bunn at 285 claimed a victory by pinning Zachary Stringer.

The Spartans are back on the mats on Wednesday as they will travel to Salem Hills.
