On Wednesday evening, the Emery Spartans played one more game before the Thanksgiving break by traveling to Delta to take on the Rabbits. Both teams fought for the win, but it was the Spartans who came out on top, 55-51.

Emery has started the season 3-0, with wins over a pair of 5A teams (Roy and Granger), and earned a win over Juab Tuesday evening.

Emery opened up the first quarter, taking a 17-12 lead over the Rabbits. Delta would come back in the second quarter, outscoring the Spartans by one in the quarter and cutting into the lead as the two teams went into the locker room at the half with Emery in the lead 29-25.

In the third, the Spartans let off the gas, and the Rabbits took advantage, leading by the end of the quarter,  37-36. The final eight minutes were a battle with both teams seeing the finish line, and both of them looking for their fourth win in a row to start the season. Emery took the slight edge and grabbed a 55-51 victory, moving to 4-0 to start the season.

Porter Sitterud led the way for the Spartans with 22 points and collected three steals. Brek Griffin had 14 points with nine boards and three assists, and Ajay Thomas scored nine, with five assists, four steals, and three rebounds in the win.

The Spartans will hit the court in the Spartan Center on Wednesday evening when they welcome the 1-2 American Leadership Academy Eagles.
