Jose L. Lucero, 39, of Price, Utah, unexpectedly passed away on December 1, 2025.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 18, 1986 but was raised in Carbon County where he spent the majority of his life. He was a proud graduate of Carbon High School where he met the love of his life and best friend Melita. While there, he also built many friendships and memories that stayed with him forever.

Jose was known for his big heart, larger than life personality, and the way he loved without hesitation. He was funny, loving, and welcoming to everyone, and always met others with a big bear hug and an “I love you,” no matter if it were family, friends, or a stranger who simply needed a smile to brighten the room. He opened his arms and his home without hesitation. To know Jose was to feel accepted, supported, and cared for, but most importantly loved.

An amazing husband and father, Jose cherished his family above all else. He found peace and joy in the outdoors camping, fishing, boating, and traveling whenever he could. Jose had a beautiful voice, loved to sing and dance, and could turn any gathering into a celebration. Jose carried a bigger-than-life love for the Raiders always yelling “Just Win Baby,” and we can’t forget he was the MASTER of the grill. Jose brought energy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to every moment.

Jose leaves behind his wife, Melita; two beautiful, loving daughters, Alysia and Gabriella; mother and father-in-law; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and countless friends who loved him deeply. Jose had a way of making everyone feel like family and his love stretched far and wide.

A visitation for Jose will take place Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street, Price, Utah 84501) with a funeral service to follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. A dinner will be held after the services.

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Jose online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
