
The Green River Lady Pirates traveled to Moab to face the Grand County Red Devils. Grand overpowered the Lady Pirates to take a 72-15.
Green River is sitting at 0-4 this season, with losses to Tintic, Rockwell, and twice to Grand.
The Red Devils started fast from the tip-off, putting up 21 points in the first quarter. Defensively, they held the Lady Pirates to zero points and then put up another 21 in the second quarter to take a 42-5 lead into halftime.
Moving into the second half, in the third quarter, things slowed quite a bit as the Red Devils collected 11 points and Green River added another 4, leaving the teams heading into the fourth with Grand up 53-9. The Red Devils turned it back on in the final eight minutes as they amped things back up, scoring 19 to take the 72-15 win.
Kenley Dinkins and Gracie Burnett each scored four points for Green River. Quianna Quintana and Braylie Parsons each added three in the loss.
The Lady Pirates will travel with the boys team on Friday when they will both take on Bryce Valley.
