The Lady Panthers of Pinnacle welcomed the Altamont Longhorns to the gym in Price on Tuesday evening, and the Longhorns were not very hospitable guests, shutting down Pinnacle and leaving with a 55-5 win.

Pinnacle has had its share of struggles this season, working its way to a 2-4 record with wins over Merit Prep and Utah Military Academy Camp Williams, working through the preseason with region play starting after the Christmas break.

The Longhorns collected 17 points in the opening quarter as they held the Lady Panthers scoreless. Pinnacle would get on the board in the second quarter, scoring four, but Altamont put up 21 of their own, taking a 38-4 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Altamont slowed things down, scoring nine points in the third and eight more in the fourth, while Pinnacle’s scoring issues continued as they put up only one point, and the Longhorns took the 55-5 win.

Acacia McLean scored three for the Lady Panthers, and Perla Ruelas scored two in the loss.

Pinnacle will be back on the court on Thursday when they travel to face the Utah Military Academy Hill Field Thunderbirds.
