The Lady Dinos made the long trip to Ogden on Tuesday to take on the Ogden Tigers. Balanced scoring for the Tigers was the key as they handed Carbon a 42-32 loss.

Carbon slides to 5-8 overall as they get set to wind down the preseason before region play starts in January.

The Tigers were the aggressor in the first quarter as they doubled up the Lady Dinos, taking a 10-5 lead. In the second quarter, Carbon nearly outscored the Tigers 10-9, but remained down by six, 20-14, heading into halftime.

Carbon found its stroke in the third, keeping the pace with Ogden, but were still unable to chip into the lead as the Lady Dinos went into the final eight minutes still down by six, 30-24. In the fourth, Carbon battled on but was unable to crack the Tiger code, and Ogden did just enough to maintain the lead they had built, taking the 42-32 win.

Bailey Johnson led the way for the Lady Dinos, scoring 14. Malia Smith added 8, and Chrissy Jones had four in the loss.

The Lady Dinos will be on the road again on Wednesday, returning to the Ogden area to face the Ben Lomond Scots.

After Wednesday’s game, Carbon won’t be back on the court until after Christmas. They will welcome Pineview to Jurassic Park on December 30, with the game set to start at 1:30 p.m.
