Coming off a dominant performance on Wednesday evening over the Grantsville Cowboys, the Carbon Dino boys’ wrestling squad was on the road Thursday to take on the North Sanpete Hawks. The Dinos and Hawks split the matches 7-7, but North Sanpete came away with the 42-40 win.
Carbon has been very busy this week, starting on Tuesday night when they faced the South Summit Wildcats, who came away with the 40-31 win. Then on Wednesday, they faced Grantsville, and the Dinos turned in a one-sided victory, taking a 72-11 win over the Cowboys.
On Thursday against the Hawks, Jaden Barlow collected the win at 106 pounds over Quade Withers by pin. Deryk Valdez claimed a victory over Wyatt Griffith by pin as well. Jack Vigor earned a win by pin over Trevor Mann at 150 pounds, and Trace Crespin at 157 pounds won by pin over Damien Sorensen.
In the 175-pound class Bryson Ferguson won by major decision over Boston Blackham by a score of 14-3. JJ Ruden claimed a win over Hagen Nielson at 215 pounds by pin and Jared Simmons took a win by forfeit at 285 pounds.
Carbon will wrap up the week on Friday and Saturday in Farmington when they take part in the Christmas Clash.
