Following its debut coloring book in 2024, Color Carbon County showed rapid growth in 2025, releasing a second coloring book covering Price and Wellington, the children’s book ‘Big John’s Secret to Being Big’, and officially becoming a tax-exempt organization.

To discuss these accomplishments and more, the KOAL newsroom was joined by founder Ashley Vincent to recap a big 2025 and look ahead to what the future holds for the nonprofit.

The excitement really began for Vincent in June when Color Carbon County released ‘Big John’s Secret to Being Big’ and joined the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce.

“That was thanks to my daughter,” Vincent said of the book. “It was her idea. She loves Big John, so yeah, that was a big success. And with connection, connecting with the chamber and doing the ribbon-cutting for that book and just being recognized as a business locally created lots of connections.”

Shortly after, the organization gained official tax-exempt status, making it easier for it to accomplish its goal of making art accessible. “It was kind of just a breath. I can finally relax. It was a lot of work trying to get it to become a nonprofit, but that also opened up a lot of doors and lots of opportunities for funding.”

The next significant milestone for Color Carbon County was the release of its Price and Wellington coloring book. The book features local landmarks and businesses from around the Price/Wellington area. This includes stops by Price Chapel, Peczuh Printing, Woodward Law and Castle Country Radio.

“It was a lot of work, and I’m really glad that it’s out there,” said Vincent of the endeavor. “If anybody is interested in purchasing any of my books, they can get them at Bookcliff Workwear.”

Vincent also peeled back the curtain and gave a peek at what the day-to-day operations look like for Color Carbon County. “We have a board, so we’re constantly in communication with that. Just planning our next steps, and there’s a lot. There’s a lot that’s happening. The coloring books they’re really cool, but they’re not just what we do. That is just a small puzzle piece of the big picture that we’ve got going on.”

She continued,” Our biggest goal when we first started this was to get the kids into the community and creating. So there’s a lot that’s about to happen … We’re expanding to more than just youth. So we’re going to be working with Active Re-Entry as well to bring paint-along nights to them.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Vincent previewed other projects coming down the pipeline: “We just purchased a trailer, and we’re going to convert it into a travel art studio for all of the events that go on, you know, Helper Vibes, the Art Festival, all of that. We are going to provide free art projects at those events. We are also looking for a permanent location, so we’re looking for a commercial property to move in, and we’re going to be offering low-cost art classes to homeschooled elementary students as well as art clubs and adult paint-along nights.”

Closing our conversation, Vincent stated,” Thank you for all your support. We are actively seeking donations, so just hit me up on Facebook or whatever if you have the ability to help donate.”

More information about Color Carbon County is available on the organization’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Copies of the coloring book and children’s book are available online on Etsy, and the organization’s books are available at Bookcliff Workwear.
