The Lady Dino wrestling team traveled to Vernal over the weekend to take part in the Tournament of Champions. Over 25 schools from across Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. The Lady Dinos had four individual wrestlers finish in the top 10, and in team scoring, Carbon placed 18th.
Carbon will be busy this week as they prepare for the divisional tournament next weekend and the State Championships in the first week of February. They will take to the mats three times, including Senior Night, a trip to Richfield, and a closing-out-the-week trip to Farmington.
Madison Arroyo earned a top-three finish, taking third with a 5-1 overall mark, winning all her matches by pin, including the third-place match as she pinned Adia Price of Green River. Rickelle Collins took a fourth-place finish, ending the weekend with a 3-2 record. Collins fell in the third-place match at 155 pounds to Reese Davis of Rifle by technical fall.
Alizah Trostle finished in eighth place at 170 pounds, going 3-3, falling to Ruth LeBlanc of Meeker in the seventh-place match by pin. Farrah Parker finished in eighth as well at 135 pounds, going 2-3 and falling in the seventh-place match to Jasmine Lamadrid of North Ridge by pin.
The Lady Dinos will be back at it on Wednesday for Senior Night when the Union Cougars come to town.
