Darla Jean Miller-Brown has passed peacefully on January 10th, 2026. She was born in Fairfield, California on September 24th, 1961 to Jeral Dee Adair and Vivian Colleen Bentley-Adair. As a shy, loving, compassionate girl, she grew up in Wellington, Utah. Darla loved animals and always had a gentle touch. She inherited her love of horses from her mother. Darla had challenges throughout her life that never stopped her. She was gentle but determined. In 1995, she adopted the son that would make her life complete. Darla loved being a mom more than anything else. Darla was an assistant manager for fifteen years for Walker Travel Center. She married her loving husband on July 26, 2008 in Coram, Montana.
Darla was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. She loved all animals, including her dogs, horses, ferrets, and cats. She was an artist of countless mediums, finding inspiration in Native American art. Her beading projects in particular are too beautiful to describe. She loved music and connection. If there was a public event nearby, you can bet you’d see Darla there. Darla absolutely loved children and found so much joy in them. She played a big role in raising her nieces and nephews. She dedicated six years to being a foster mom until she found her forever son, Zane. Darla loved God more than life and was proud to be recently baptized.
Darla is survived by her husband, Byron Brown; her children, Zane Miller, Becca Bowman, Tracy and Ansley Pennington, Mandy and Jasper Torez, Clayton and Sarah Brown, Carrie and Kevin Miller, and Sheena Patrick. She is also survived by her siblings, David J. and Tanya Adair, Christie and Jim Giles, Emmett C. Adair, Jeri Lynn Adair-Crabtree and Patrick Crabtree. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Darla will be held by friends and family at a later date.
