Seeking to ensure that events like Winter Formal and Prom are open and accessible to all students, Emery High School has partnered with the Cinderella Project to host a formal wear sale on Monday, Jan. 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Spartan Center.
The event will offer students the opportunity to shop for gowns and accessories at prices ranging from $5 to $20, with many items still tagged.
Founded in 2019, the Cinderella Project aims to offer a boutique experience for students while keeping prices in the $5-$20 range, with all profits staying with the host school.
This partnership continues Emery’s long-standing tradition of prom dress exchanges, a program that student council adviser Tisha Thornley explained as being “about creating a special night where girls can come together, laugh, support one another, and leave feeling confident and beautiful.”
The exchange provides an average of 20-40 students each year with an outfit, but the partnership looks to expand beyond the walls of EHS, inviting students at neighboring Carbon High to participate as well.
The Emery High/Cinderella Project formal wear sale takes place on Monday, Jan. 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Spartan Center. Both cash and card payments are accepted at the pop-up shop. Donations will also be taken during the sale. For information, visit Emery High on Facebook.
