The Utah Department of Transportation News Release

Price, Utah –  (Jan. 29, 2026) –  The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will hold a public hearing in Price to share information about a federally funded safety improvement project on U.S. Highway 6 (US-6) near Carbonville.

The hearing is scheduled Thursday, February 12th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Carbon County Administration Building Commission Room located at 751 East 100 North in Price.

UDOT will introduce a Restricted Crossing U-turn design intended to reduce serious crashes by limiting high-risk turning and crossing movements.

The proposed safety improvement would restrict left turns onto US-6 from Spring Glen Road and from Country Club Road. Drivers entering US-6 from these roads would instead turn right and use designated U-turn areas at Consumers Road or Carbonville Road to travel in the desired direction. The improvements would not change access for travelers on US-6, and left-hand turns from US-6 would remain available where currently allowed.

The public hearing will be conducted in an open house format with project team members available to answer questions.  Attendees may submit written or verbal comments in person at the hearing.  Public comments may also be submitted using the following methods:

  • By email to us6carbonvillesafety@utah.gov

  • By mail to: U.S. 6 Carbonville Safety Project Team, c/o Avenue Consultants, 136 E. Riverside Drive, Suite 100, St. George, UT 84790

The public comment period will open Thursday, February 12, 2026 and remain open through Thursday, February 26, 2026. Comments must be submitted or postmarked by February 26, 2026. All comments received will be reviewed and considered by UDOT.
