The Utah State Eastern women’s basketball team made the trip to Snow College to take on the Badgers for the final time in the regular season. The Eagles entered the game looking for a season sweep of the Badgers after winning the previous two matchups.

Offense was dominant for the Eagles in the first half of the first quarter. A Kaiserita Otuafi three-pointer gave Eastern an early 16-4 lead. Snow fought back, cutting the lead to single digits, but the Eagles held a 19-14 lead after the first quarter.

Despite early efforts by the Badgers, the Eagles maintained their lead throughout the second quarter. After Snow tied the game at 21, the Eagles went on a 15-2 run to take a 13-point lead. Eastern took a 36-29 lead into the half. Addasyn Scrivner’s 10 points led the Eagles in the first half.

The start of the third quarter was similar to the second. The Badgers battled to shrink Eastern’s lead to just one point, but Eastern used an 8-2 run to extend their lead, once again. Eastern’s lead steadied at 55-48 at the end of the third period.

The trend continued in the fourth quarter as Snow hit a three-pointer with just under three minutes left to tie the game at 64. The Eagles closed the game with a 9-2 run to end the game with a 73-66 win.

Skylie Barker scored 18 points in the second half to finish the game with a team-high 22 points. Marlee Pieper finished with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Addasyn Scrivner (16) and Avery Sanders (10) also finished in double figures.

Next is a home game against the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans. The game is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:00 p.m.
