The Utah State Eastern men’s basketball team hit the road to take on the No. 1 Snow College Badgers for the last time in the regular season.
The first half of the game was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. There were 10 lead changes in the first half, but it was Isaac Castagnetto’s two free throws before the end of the half that gave Eastern a 37-36 lead at the break.
Ike Palmer’s nine points and Isaac Castagnetto’s eight led the Eagles at the break. The duo shot a combined 6-8 from the field and 4-4 from the free-throw line.
The second half was a different story from the first. Eastern held its lead until the 18:14 mark in the second half. Snow took their first lead of the second half on a free throw with 17 minutes left. After that point, the Eagles fell behind and were unable to find a comeback. Eastern fell 84-64 to the Badgers.
Ike Palmer (13) and Isaac Castagnetto (10) were the only Eagles to finish with double figures. Palmer also had a team-high six rebounds in the loss.
Next for the Eagles is their final homestand of the season. Eastern will take on Colorado Northwestern Community College on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
