Ellen E. Anson, age 67, passed away February 12, 2026 at her home in Price.
She was born in Pleasant View, Utah on December 10, 1958, to Eldred and Lois Erickson, the 7th of 8 children.
She graduated from BYU, then worked for multiple businesses, particularly in the areas of training and purchasing (including purchasing equipment for the 2002 Winter Olympics, everything from hand warmers to the Zamboni). Ellen later retired from BYU and moved to Price, where she felt welcomed by the community and made some dear friends.
During her career, Ellen lived in Windsor, England and Dublin, Ireland. She loved traveling internationally, especially in the U.K. She kept a list of the two dozen countries she had visited, and the forty more countries that she hoped to visit someday.
Ellen was a gifted teacher and often served in church callings, especially in Relief Society, where this talent blessed the lives of many others.
Ellen loved to share her considerable creative and artistic skills with family and friends. She was a life-long supporter of the arts, including the Springville Playhouse and the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, Utah. She had the gift for making things beautiful, wherever she went. Her home and her garden highlighted her ability to bring design ideas to life.
To be her neighbor, co-worker, friend, or family, meant being the recipient of her yummy baking. She especially enjoyed sharing homemade bread, brownies, lemon bread, and fruit leather. Her delicious holiday meals were a visual and culinary feast.
Ellen will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, including her nieces and nephews, with whom she kept a close relationship. We are all better for having known Ellen.
Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Castle Valley Funerals & Cremations where family and friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.castlevalleyfunerals.com.
