Although the weather was a stark contrast from its groundbreaking ceremony in August of 2024, the excitement in the air was palpable as Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation celebrated the grand opening of its new wing on Wednesday, Feb.18.

“It’s been a little bit of a long road, but we’re so glad to be here,” said Kirk Player, an administrator at the rehabilitation center.

He continued, discussing the purpose of the new addition,” This side will be for short-term skilled therapy. So, what that is, if somebody has to go to the hospital for any reason and isn’t quite able to make it home, they can come here and get some short-term intense therapies and get back on their feet.”

Speaking to Castle Country Radio, Player described the emotion of seeing the new wing complete: “It’s really awesome to be able to walk down the hall, walk in the rooms and see what a great job they’ve done here. And how well we’ll be able to serve the community with this. So, we’re super happy to be here at this point.”

Pinnacle’s new wing is officially christened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Player also shared what excites him most about the wing from his administrative position,” What really excites me is that we will have a world-class, short-term rehab facility right here in Carbon and Emery counties.”

He added,” There are other facilities up north that do short-term only, and it doesn’t really make sense in our community. But to have a wing dedicated like this, we’re super excited.”

The new wing will see a net gain of eight new beds for the facility, along with a state-of-the-art therapy gym.
