With the winter sports season wrapping up, it’s time to talk about getting outside once again and starting the spring sports season at Green River High School. The Track and field team will get things going on March 7, and the golf season will begin on March 18.

Track and field will begin in Moab on March 7 with the Grand Invitational. Most schools will travel for the first meet of the season, regardless of classification. The following week, they will be in Fillmore for the Old Capital Invite.  They will travel to Castle Dale twice this season, on April 17 for the Eastern Utah Championships and on April 28 for the Gardner Invitational. They will make a trip to Cedar City on May 1 & 2 for the SUU High School Championships, and then on May 9, they will travel to Monticello for the region championships. May 15 & 16, the State Championships will be held at Brigham Young.

The golf season for both the boys’ and girls’ teams will begin on the road in Fruita, Colorado, at the Adobe Creek National Golf Course on March 18. They will be on the course in Green River twice on March 26 and then again on April 23. They will also take on The Carbon Country Club Golf Course twice, on April 8 and May 4. The State Championships will be held at Rose Park on May 11-13.

Good luck to all participants in the spring sports season at Green River. Make sure to check back with Castle Country Radio for the results of the events as they become available.
