On Thursday, the Spartan soccer team made the trip to Delta to take on the Rabbits. Emery started the season off with a win on Tuesday and was preparing to head to St. George this weekend for tournament play. The Rabbits balanced their offense and defensively gave up one goal to the Spartans, taking a 4-1 victory.
Emery earned a win in their first contest of the season against Beaver, taking a 5-1 win. This weekend, they will be on the road for the annual St. George tournament, playing games on Friday and Saturday.
The contest with the Rabbits was all about the first half. Delta was the aggressor, putting up a pair of goals and limiting the Spartans to just one, as Delta held the lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Spartans were held scoreless as they could not find a way around the Rabbits’ defense. Delta would add two more in the game and close out the contest with a 4-1 win.
At the time of publishing, there were no further stats.
Emery heads back to the pitch on Friday at 3:00 p.m. when they will face Snow Canyon. They wrap up the weekend on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., when they will face Enterprise.
