Carbon Dino tennis was back on the court Wednesday to face Richfield. Coming off the season-opening win over Manti on Tuesday, the Dinos kept their record unblemished, earning a 4-2 win.

Carbon earned the victory over Manti to open the season, and the Dinos were looking to keep the streak going on Wednesday against the Wildcats.

The Dinos swept the singles matches, starting with first singles, where Xander Carrillo won his match against Richfield’s Tyler Cowley in straight sets 6-2 and 6-1. Oliver Steele in second singles earned a straight set win over Justin Johnson, 6-4 and 6-3. In the 3rd singles match, things got interesting, and even though Carter Abbott took the win, it would take three sets. After taking a 7-5 win in the first, the Wildcats Colin Anderson came back to win set two 6-1, but Abbott finished him off in set three by a 6-1 score.

In doubles, Judson Varner and Levi King battled their way through three sets to earn the only doubles win of the day. In the first set, they dropped a heartbreaker 6-7 (7-5), but then put together back-to-back wins, 6-3 and 6-4.

On Friday, the team heads to the Uintah Invitational, where they will participate in the two-day event.
