Gathering for its second luncheon of the year, members of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce met at the Southeast Regional Development Agency building for an afternoon of information, networking and recognition.
As part of the meeting, the chamber honored two local businesses, Restore Wizard and Anytime Fitness, and gave a community spotlight to the Price City Renaissance Festival.
First to speak were Jed Baker and Sam Gurule representing Restore Wizard.
“Restore Wizard is a new name in Carbon County, but we have actually been around for the last six years under Jed Baker and Sheila Baker’s ownership,” explained Gurule. “We decided to drop the franchise name Service Master because that does come with a lot of fees, but we want to better serve our community.”
Although the business specializes in disaster restoration, it also offers home remodeling and roofing services.
In an attempt to be more involved in the community, Restore Wizard has participated in local parades and hosted community lunches. On June 13, the company has another lunch planned to help kick off summer.
“Overall, we’re just a new name, but the same mission. We are specialized in and trained to do sewage cleanup, trauma cleanup, fire, water, you name it, we can help with it,” closed Gurule.
Next to the podium was Kenzie Burnett, the general manager of Anytime Fitness.
“I am a new manager, and I love being out in the community interacting with everybody. I am trying to get some corporate Wellness Partnerships going on,” explained Burnett. “I have several different options available for the businesses in Carbon County, and so if you would like to learn more about that. You can call me, text me, or come to the gym. I’m there Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
Currently at the gym, they are offering a $1 enrollment fee and an opportunity for community members to try six group sessions.
Rounding out the recognition, Kyle Heffernan, Andrew Pehrson and Troy Sweeten addressed those in attendance to promote the Price City Renaissance Festival.
“This year, we are celebrating our fifth year of the Price Renaissance Festival. And, as usual, every year, it’s getting bigger, it’s getting better,” shared Pehrson. “For those who are coming, we have a scavenger hunt. We have a costume contest, and there will be an after-party, which is super fun, with fireworks and fire dancing. You name it, it’s going to be there. It’s gonna be fun.”
Moving to the armored combat angle, Sweeten shared,” We’re gonna have the Order of the Silver Rose and Invictus, gentlemen, I fought with internationally. So we’re going to have plenty of good, recognized international fighters this year. Real weapons, real steel, real armor, you’ll see actual combat. None of it is staged; everything is real.”
Rounding out the trio, Heffernan discussed the King’s Feast portion of the event, speaking in character,” this year’s grand renaissance shall be the most magnificent, surpassing all that have cometh before. It shall be the greatest we have yet to be held, filled with wondrous diversions, sweet live music, fierce contests of armored combat, and a splendid feast and the noble presence of the king and queen.”
He continued,” Tickets may be secured through the town’s ledger at Priceutah.gov for about 30 pieces of silver ($30). So we have a limited number of seats. So let’s make haste.”
Price City’s Renaissance Festival takes place on April 24 and April in Washington and Pioneer Park.
Castle Country Radio would like to congratulate all these businesses and organizations on their dedication to improving the Castle Country.
