The Carbon Dino soccer squad traveled to Mount Pleasant to take on the North Sanpete Hawks. The Dinos kept the Hawks out of the back of the net, adding a pair of their own to take a 2-0 win, moving to a perfect 3-0 in region play.

Carbon is 5-3 overall, along with their unbeaten mark in Region 13. The Dinos have two games coming up before pausing for Spring Break.

The Dinos came out in the first half, finding their way around the Hawks’ defense to find the back of the net, carrying a 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, they would exploit the same weaknesses in the North Sanpete defense as they had earlier in the contest to score one more goal, and Ty Mortensen in goal collected the shutout, 2-0.

Reiss Timothy and Tacoma Smith scored goals for the Dinos. Dayton King and Case Griffeth added an assist each in the win.

Carbon will get back to work on Friday when they face the Manti Templars at the pitch at Carbon High. The Dinos were winless in both meetings last season. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.

They will travel next Tuesday to face Maeser Prep before taking time off for Spring Break.
