Jonathan William “Jonny” Hussey passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 21, 2026. He has left behind a legacy of love, service, creativity, and quiet joy.

He was born on August 30, 1983, in Price, Utah to Dixon and Robin Hussey and was the fourth of six boys, a role he carried with humor, thoughtfulness, and a steady presence that meant more than he ever realized.

Jonny earned his Eagle Scout award, graduated from Carbon High School and later served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Georgia, Atlanta Mission. He received his post-secondary education at College of Eastern Utah and Utah Valley University earning the degrees that qualified him for a career in graphic design. His faith and compassion shaped the way he lived his life – always seeking connection, understanding, and kindness toward others.

A passionate learner and adventurer, Jonny loved exploring both near and far. He found peace on hiking trails and joy in traveling the world. For a time, he lived and worked in Birmingham, England, an experience he cherished and often reflected on. At home he expressed his creativity through knitting and baking – famously making the best cupcakes anyone was lucky enough to taste. He was taught to knit by his Irish grandmother. Many friends and family members were fortunate recipients of beautiful, hand-knit gifts.

Jonny was a beloved uncle to his 16 nieces and nephews, who knew him as someone who truly listened, laughed easily, and loved deeply. He was a steady, gentle presence in their lives and will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

For the past three years, Jonny made his home in the mountains of North Carolina with his partner, Marcus Roberson, and their dog Forrest. Together they created a beautiful life in the country, taking pride in their home, keeping up their yard, and spending countless happy hours playing with Forrest. It was a place of comfort, companionship, laughter, and quiet happiness – everything Jonny valued most.

Jonny is survived by his partner, Marcus Roberson of Mills River, North Carolina; his parents, Dixon and Robin Hussey; his brothers, Kevin (Chelsea), Brian (Cayli), Wade, Quinn (Cami), and Jordan (Charly); his grandmother, Frances Hussey; 16 much-loved nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, LaMar Hussey; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Eileen Cooper; and his uncles, David Hussey and Terry Cooper.

Jonny will be remembered for his warm smile, his thoughtful heart, and the way he made people feel seen and valued. He taught us to be less judgmental, more tolerant, forgiving and understanding, and to strive to love as Jesus loved. His life was one of sincerity and love, and his memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew him.
