
On Tuesday, the Carbon Dino boys’ volleyball team traveled to Roosevelt to face the Union Cougars in region play. The Dinos were looking to put one in the win column, having not earned a victory since March 6th, the opening game against Dugway, and the Dinos were ready for this one, taking the victory in straight sets 3-0.
Carbon has been looking to get back on the winning track since their first win on March 6th over Dugway, making their way through preseason tournaments and other contests before jumping into Region 3A Division 2 play.
All three sets for the Dinos against the Cougars were very tight, as Carbon came out and took set one, 25-18. Set two was just as competitive as the first set, with Carbon taking the win 25-22. Set three was the same score and ended the same way, as the Dinos completed the sweep in straight sets, 25-22, winning the match 3-0.
Carter Warburton had 14 digs and 11 kills for Carbon. Bryken Preston had 20 assists and 14 digs. Mathis had 10 digs and eight assists, and Kyler Orth had 13 kills in the win.
Carbon will get back on the court Thursday night, this time at home, as the Juab Wasps come to town. Game time is set for 6:30.
