On Friday night under the lights in Castle Dale, the Spartans were looking for their first Region 13 win as the Union Cougars came to town. Seth Winter had the leg for Emery as he scored all three Emery goals in the 3-2 win.

Emery sits at 3-7 overall and 1-3 in Region 13, with the first set of rankings set to come out Saturday, April 4.

The Cougars came out and found their way around the Emery defense in the first half, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, Winter took over, finding the back of the net on three separate occasions. Defensively, they would surrender just one more goal as they claimed the 3-2 win in front of the home crowd.

Winter collected all three goals for the Spartans. Kysler Kofford, Ryker Sermon, and Corbyn Ward all had assists in the win.

The Spartans head into the Spring Break Holiday now and won’t be back on the field until April 8, when they welcome Manti. After starting the season on the road for the most part, Emery gets to play at home for their next three contests.
