As the summer months approach, parents across the Castle Country are searching for activities and programs for their children to participate in while school is out. To help ease this burden, Utah State University Extension, 4-H and Meaningful Mindz are partnering to present ‘All About Kids – Spring into Summer.’

Sara Marshall, 4-H program coordinator for Extension, joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event and the benefits they look to bring to both kids and adults.

“We have partnered up with Meaningful Mindz, and we kind of just created this idea where there are so many resources in Carbon County, but sometimes they’re just so difficult to find,” explained Marshall. “So we thought this idea would be awesome to make a whole day about kids and just getting ready for summer and celebrating the fact that school’s almost done.”

The event will feature a plethora of engaging activities for children – including bouncy houses, games and hands-on activities – while also serving as a one-stop shop for several summer programs across the area.

Previewing some of the organizations that will be in attendance, Marshall shared, “Right now, we have about 16 people signed up for booths and activities. USU Eastern will be there. But then also we’re going to have like the Children’s Justice Center and resources like that.”

Closing our conversation, Marshall stated, “Please come join us on April 13.”

‘All About Kids – Spring into Summer’ takes place on Monday, April 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Carbon County Event Center. Registration is open on ZSuite, with an in-person option available on the day of.
