Price, Utah — Utah State University Eastern Athletics has announced a leadership change within the men’s basketball program. Coach Evans will no longer serve as head coach. Bill Evans is appreciated for his years of commitment to the USU Eastern Men’s basketball program.
Since 2020, Evans has played a fundamental role as head coach in mentoring and developing the USU Eastern men’s basketball program. During his tenure, he demonstrated a strong commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the court, contributing to the continued growth and competitiveness of the program.
“We want to sincerely thank Coach Evans for his leadership and the impact he has had on our student-athletes and program,” said Athletic Director Jess Brinkerhoff. “We appreciate the time, effort, and experience he brought to USU Eastern.”
Following a comprehensive evaluation of the program, the department has made the decision to move in a new direction.
Effective immediately, Assistant Coach Easton Ralphs will serve as Interim Head Coach. He will oversee all aspects of the program as the athletic department evaluates the next steps in the leadership of USU Eastern men’s basketball.
“We have confidence in Coach Ralphs’ ability to provide leadership and stability during this period,” Brinkerhoff added. “Our priority remains supporting our student-athletes and positioning the program for long-term success.”
Utah State University Eastern remains committed to fostering excellence within its men’s basketball program and building a strong foundation for the future.
