The Carbon County Chamber will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a new business in the area, Clear Creek Adventures owned and operated by Johnny and Mallery Dunn. The ceremony will take place at their store located at 110 South Main Street in Helper at 12:00 pm, light refreshments will be served.
Clear Creek Adventures opened their doors on April 1 and have been busy booking bike tours in the surrounding area like beautiful Nine Mile Canyon. “That’s an over-night tour, shuttle you there. If you need to you can rent some bikes from us,” said Johnny Dunn. “It’s a 60-mile ride, so it’s a good full day ride. You’re going to end up at Nine Mile Canyon Ranch and you will be spending the night there. You get your choice of one of the original Pioneer cabins there, which is an awesome attraction or you can just stay in one of our tents and cots and we provide all that as part of the package also.” Another overnight option begins at Scofield and goes over to Huntington where guests will be able to ride through Clear Creek town and learn of its history. Both tours offer delicious outdoorsy meals prepared by their guide.
The business also offers outdoor gear for rent such as paddle boards, fishing and river kayaks, road bikes and mountain bikes. Visitors can also find t-shirts, hats, one of a kind coffee mugs and other souvenirs in their shop.
One of the unique amenities is the Electric Bike Rentals. “We’ve seen a lot of excitement from these. You can either rent these bikes for an hour or for as long as you want or you can rent them as a package we offer. You drive down to the deli, you pick the food you want they load it up for you into your picnic basket and away you go. The thing about these electric bikes is you don’t need to be in amazing shape to ride them because they are electric, they have a motor in them you, just give it gas and go,” explained Dunn. Riders can go along the river parkways stopping at one of the many gazebos to enjoy their picnic, plus enjoy the many attractions on historic Main Street like the art galleries and museums.
The public is welcomed to attend the Ribbon Cutting to wish Clear Creek Adventures good luck and thank them for doing business in Carbon County.
