Dusty Huntington discussed the stress that the growing numbers of wild horses and burros are putting on the cattle industry. Horses have teeth top and bottom. When they eat horse tend to pull up the grass by the roots. Cattle have teeth only on the bottom and just pull off the grass leaving the roots. The BLM is not managing the numbers of horses so there are 5 to 20 times the numbers of animals allowed by BLM rules. This depletes the entire range for both cattle and horses.
